Department background


The Center for Development Information and Evaluation (CDIE) of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) coordinates and facilitates the evaluation of USAID development and humanitarian assistance programs.  CDIE establishes Agency evaluation policies, prepares guidance and standards for evaluation by USAID field missions, offers training, and conducts strategic evaluations of high priority programs.  CDIE is also the repository of USAID’s development experience, providing practitioners with information and lessons learned for the design of new programs or modification of ongoing activities.
