Secretary-General's visit to Mexico (28 November - 1 December 2006)

During his visit to Mexico, Angel Gurría:

• participated in a video conference with Mr. José Natividad GONZÁLEZ PARÁS, the Governor of Nuevo Leon, on ''OECD peer review on supporting the contribution of higher education institutions to regional development''
• presented the Thematic Review of Tertiary Education (OECD's Country Note on Mexico, and Mexico's Background Report) on 28 November.

• delivered a speech at the 7th Iberoamerica Forum entitled: "Iberoamérica y el rompimiento de las barreras del subdesarrollo: siguiendo los pasos de España y Portugal" (English version to be posted shortly).

On 1 December, he:

• attended the inauguration ceremony for Felipe CALDERÓN, the new President of Mexico.
