Rountable on Tax Incentives for Research and Development

A Roundtable on Tax Incentives for R&D will be held on Thursday 6 June 2002.

The OECD will sponsor an informal discussion among Delegates to the Committee for Scientific and Technological Policy (CSTP), the Committee on Industry and Business Environment (CIBE), and the Committee on Fiscal Affairs on trends and issues associated with tax incentives for research and development (R&D). This follows up on analysis conducted as part of the OECD Growth Project and previous OECD studies, which identified business R&D as a driver of innovation and growth performance in OECD economies. More OECD governments are looking to fiscal incentives to stimulate business investments in R&D. The costs, benefits and effective design of these tax measures warrant fuller consideration.
