• Private insurance information, General Secreteriat of Consumers (within the Ministry of Development): it has published brochures with a view to informing the consumers and policyholders on various aspects of private insurance.

Private sector programmes

• Insurance information, The Hellenic Association of Insurance Companies, www.eaee.gr : it has undertaken the initiative to publish brochures aiming to informing all policyholders and potential policyholders on their risk exposures and their options available in the insurance market; these leaflets also contribute to the comprehension of the terms of insurance contracts and of the rights and liabilities of all parties involved (eg insurance undertakings, insurance intermediaries, policyholders).
• Banks in Action, The Hellenic Bank Association (HBA), www.hba.gr
  In its social role, the HBA enhances public awareness vis-a-vis the Greek banking and financial system, promotes the concept of corporate social responsibility and takes initiatives in the field of business ethics.
  Furthermore, it addresses problems related to consumer protection, creates and develops mechanisms for settling disputes out of court between private customers/investors and banks via the services offered by the Hellenic Ombudsman for Banking-Investment Services (Banking Ombudsman), encourages the contribution of the banking system to Sustainable Development and also keep banks informed of labour and social issues.
