Policy dialogue & measuring progress

Policy dialogue and the exchange of experience in anti-corruption reform are at the core of the Action Plan’s implementation mechanism. They are key means to foster the establishment of strong and sustainable safeguards against corruption in Asian and Pacific countries.
Policy dialogue takes place during Steering Group meetings, held about twice yearly, and regional conferences, held every three years. The Steering Group meetings bring together focal points of member countries—the Steering Group—and the Advisory Group, consisting of international organisations and donors that support the fight against corruption in Asia-Paciifc.
During the Steering Group meetings, delegates discuss their countries’ efforts to implement the Action Plan, assess developments and progress, and exchange experience about challenges, success, and failures in the design and implementation of reforms. The Steering Group also decides about the Initiative's future activities and priorities.
The policy dialogue is supported through a continual stocktaking on anti-corruption policies and legal and institutional frameworks in Asia-Pacific.
