The speakers included Mr Anwar Ibrahim, former Finance Minister and Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia and Dr Bernard Kouassi, Executive Director of the APRM Secretariat, and was Chaired by Dr Firmino Mucavele, Executive Head, NEPAD Secretariat. One of the outcomes of the conference recognised the need for more work on identifying the obstacles to mobilising investment and building the capacity to establish a sound investment climate, by strengthening peer learning methods like the APRM and using capacity building tools like the Policy Framework for Investment [see www.improvinggovernance.be/en/programme/building-policy-capacities/].
