How do teacher training institutions prepare teachers to integrate technology in their future classrooms?
The research reviews try to answer this question. They show that ICT is not used regularly or systematically in the countries reviewed.
The reviews cover research in about 15 countries: in a few countries (Canada, the United Kingdom and the United States) the picture is more complete, and the reviews from each of the other countries supplement the overall picture. Implementation is necessary at all levels for a successful outcome, but research also gives examples of how problems can be overcome at a micro-level. Enthusiasts do seem to have room for manoeuvre, but the lack of incentives makes it difficult to involve everybody. This is probably also a reason why most studies are done on the micro-level.
The research review is the starting point for the questionnaires and the case study tools.
