CERI - Evidence-based Policy Research in Education: Conferences and Meetings

The first workshop was held in April 2004 in Washington DC and asked the question: What constitutes evidence? Discussion focussed on comparing advantages and shortcomings of a range of established social science research methodologies, including randomised controlled trials.

The second workshop was held in January 2005 in Stockholm and focussed on the diversity of stakeholders (researchers, policy makers, practitioners, and the media) and challenges in communicating needs, priorities, and outputs among them.

The third workshop was held in September 2005 in The Hague, and focussed on effective mechanisms for mediating between research and policy/practice and the roles and achievements of brokerage agencies, including examples of good practice. Visit the meeting website.
