Annual inflation in the OECD area at 3.4% in April 2008

03/06/2008 - Consumer prices in the OECD area rose by 3.4% in the year to April 2008 compared with 3.5% in the year to March 2008. On a monthly basis, the price level rose by 0.5% in April, compared with 0.7% in March.
Consumer prices for energy were up by 12.4% year-on-year in April, as against 13.3% in March and consumer prices for food by 5.7% compared with 5.1% in March. Excluding food and energy, consumer prices rose by 2.0% in the year to April, compared with 2.1% in March...etc.
