International Economic Co-operation with Africa: Views from Emerging Economies

This informal seminar will gather operators from both Africa and emerging economies areas. The idea is to have emerging economies take the centre stage and express freely their own views on international cooperation for Africa's development.

This theme is linked to one of the four pillars of the Heiligendamm Dialogue Process, though this seminar is not part of this process. The organisers' hope is that its informal nature can contribute to a better understanding of mutual priorities and concerns amongst partners.

Confirmed speakers include, in order of intervention:
Mr. Mario Amano, Deputy Secretary General, OECD;
Mr. Armando Mariante Carvalho, Vice President of the Banco Nacional de Desenvolvimento Econômico e Social (BNDES, Brazil);
Ms Thelma Askey, Deputy Secretary General, OECD;
Mr Javier Santiso, Acting Director and Chief Development Economist, OECD Development Centre;

Mr. Fernando Ballestro, Ambassador of Spain
