First meeting of the OECD Global Network on Privatisation and Corporate Governance of State-Owned Assets

The first meeting of the OECD Global Network on Privatisation and Corporate Governance of State-Owned Assets took place on 5 March 2008 at the new OECD Conference Centre in Paris, France. 

The main focus of this meeting was to review a draft of the Implementation Guide for Transparency and Accountability in State Ownership, developed by the OECD Working Group on Privatisation and Corporate Governance of State Owned Assets, with a view to enhancing the usefulness and relevance of the Guide. With a view to future work, the meeting also discussed the economic role of SOEs and how good SOE governance and effective privatisation can contribute to the achievement of economic and social objectives.
