This project examined new technologies that reduce or prevent risk taking by drivers as well as technical and political constraints to introducing these technologies and how they can be overcome. New technologies that are designed for other uses but that can impact road safety were also studied. By collating the limited experience that is available concerning these new technologies, countries will be able to more rapidly evaluate and deploy the desirable technologies and take steps to reduce the negative effects of certain technologies.
