This report offers a fresh look at policies that promote entrepreneurship and enterprise development in the Mediterranean partner countries: Algeria, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, the Palestinian Authority, Syria and Tunisia.
The process of convergence towards policy guidelines set in the Charter is advancing in the MED region. Convergence is, however, moving more rapidly in some countries than others. The book’s authors discuss these discrepencies by measuring the extent to which countries apply EU enterprise policy guidelines and good practice development in EU and OECD countries. This will set the stage for further opening of their economies, in view of the establishment of the Euro-Med free trade zone targeted for 2010.
