Aid Activities in Support of HIV/AIDS Control, 2000-2007
In 2005-06, DAC members’ annual aid commitments to HIV/AIDS control reached an unprecedented USD 4.7 billion, compared with USD 3 billion in 2003-04. Countries of Sub-Saharan Africa were the main recipients. This report presents the results of a review of statistical data on aid to HIV/AIDS control, carried out by the DAC Secretariat in collaboration with members of the DAC Working Party on Statistics (WP-STAT) and the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS) in the second half of 2007.
