Government programmes

  • Investment Education campaign, Lithuanian Securities Commission, http://www.vpk.lt/en/index.php: In 2004, the Lithuanian Securities Commision launched a special investor education program aimed at promoting Lithuanian residents to prudently manage their personal finance and take measures to project and ensure their safe financial future. The program was further developed into a continuous campaign whose main task is to facilitate the developmetn of investment culture in Lithuania. In 2007 the Lithuanian Securities Commission organised 5 seminars on the subject “Personal finance management – you can learn it too!”. The seminars were held in 5 major towns of Lithuania and were attended by nearly 1,000 participants of different age groups and professions. This series of the seminars was carried on in 2008. The campaign has also included special TV programs, as well as articles in the national and regional press.
