Meeting between the Joint Venture for Procurement and Members of the Business-Industry Advisory Committee (BIAC) to the OECD

On 3 April representatives of the Joint Venture for Procurement and interested members of the Business-Industry Advisory Committee (BIAC) to the OECD met together to discuss the Joint Venture's methodology for assessing national procurement systems. The summary is now available.

This methodology is intended to provide a common tool which developing countries and donors can use to assess the quality and effectiveness of national procurement systems.

The Joint Venture had the opportunity to explain the methodology, which is being field tested, and listen to the points of view of the private sector, a key stakeholder. A document has been issued which provides background for this meeting.

This meeting was the first in a series of consultations with key stakeholders, which include the private sector and civil society organisations.
