HIV/AIDS online database and User's Guide

An online database has been set-up to present this special dataset on activities in support of HIV/AIDS control.

IMPORTANT NOTE: This database contains figures from 2000 to 2005 only. Data from 2000 to 2002 have been collected for the special study below.  Data from 2003 to 2005 come from the Aid Activities (CRS) database. For 2006 onwards, please refer to the  Aid Activities (CRS) online database.

A User's Guide has been prepared for users discovering the database. It is based on examples and introduces concept definitions when necessary.

 

OECD/UNAIDS Report on 2000-04 data

The paper Measuring Aid in support of HIV/AIDS control presents official statistics on aid to HIV/AIDS control in 2000-04 given by countries who are members of the DAC. The data have been verified by DAC members in June 2006 in preparation for the XVI International AIDS Conference to be held in Toronto in August 2006.

Report on 2000-02 data

In 2000-02 DAC members’ total official development assistance (ODA) commitments for HIV/AIDS control were US$ 2.2 billion per year.  Eastern and Southern Africa were the main recipients.  Click here to read the summary report prepared for participants to the XV International AIDS Conference in Bangkok - July 2004.This report presents the results of a review of statistical data on aid to HIV/AIDS control, carried out by the DAC Secretariat in collaboration with members of the DAC Working Party on Statistics (WP-STAT) and the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS) between February and May 2004.
