Inflation in the OECD area at 2.8% in February 2006

04/04/2006 - In the OECD area, consumer prices rose by 2.8% in the year to February 2006, compared to 3.0% in the year to January 2006. On a monthly basis, the price level rose by 0.2% between January 2006 and February 2006 compared to 0.4% between December 2005 and January 2006.

Consumer prices for energy rose by 14.5% year-on-year in February compared to 16.7% in January. Consumer prices for food increased by 1.8% year-on-year in February compared to 1.9% in January. Excluding food and energy , consumer price inflation remained unchanged at 1.8% year-on-year in February compared to January...
