Endowments for Think Tanks in Developing Countries (Paris, 28 April 2008)

This meeting brought together senior officials from official donor agencies and private foundations to discuss how to foster think tanks from developing countries that are monitoring and proposing improvements to fiscal policy. Participants discussed the creation of co-funded endowments and other instruments to provide permanent financial support for the operation of these think tanks.

The event followed a number of informal discussions in 2007, at which foundations and donors agreed to dialogue further about partnerships around specific shared goals. The main conclusiones of the meeting will be presented at the II Plenary of the Global Forum on Development, on 20 May 2008.
