15/02/2008 - Migration to OECD countries is accelerating, posing major challenges to the integration of immigrants and their children. At the same time, more and more countries are adopting selective policies to attract highly skilled workers, raising fears of a brain drain from many developing countries.

What kind of immigrants are being attracted to OECD countries? Where do they come from? How well are they integrating? Are there serious "brain drain" losses for the sending countries? Such questions are addressed in a new OECD report, A Profile of Immigrant Populations in the 21st Century.

OECD Secretary-General Angel Gurría and John Martin, Director of Employment, Labour and Social Affairs, will present the report's findings at a news conference at OECD headquarters, 2 rue André Pascal, Paris 75016, at 10.30 on Wednesday 20 February 2008.
