NZAID has an Evaluation Framework that includes a policy statement, an evaluation strategy and a set of practice guidelines.
NZAID reviews and evaluations take place at key points during the lifetime of a development activity to gain a better understanding of what is being achieved and identify how implementation can be improved to enhance development effectiveness.
NZAID reviews and evaluations of development activities are commissioned and managed by the Pacific and Global Programme Groups. Advisors from the Strategy Advisory and Evaluation Group (SAEG) provide support and advice to programme staff and may also participate directly in some of these studies. The SAEG commission and manage strategic-level (cross-cutting and sectoral or thematic) evaluations and monitors the Agency's annual programme of reviews and evaluations.
The Evaluation and Research Committee considers the findings of all reviews and evaluations and facilitates wider organisational learning from the range evaluative activities undertaken.
