GfD Working Group V: Judiciary and Enforcement

The Regional Working Group V addresses a wide variety of policy issues related to the role of the judiciary in the reform process, and of law enforcement in Arab countries.

At the GfD Initiative’s Launching Conference, participants agreed on a first set of policy issues to be considered. During the First Meeting of the Initiative’s Steering Group on 27-28 April 2005, these were refined into a “Framework for Policy Dialogue” which will serve to guide the initial Stocktaking Phase.

Working Group V on Role of the Judiciary & Enforcement is chaired by Mr. Abed Al Shakhanbeh, Minister of Justice in Jordan, and co-chaired by Mr. Kenneth Harris, Legal Attaché, U.S. Embassy to France and Mr. Hervé Grange, First President of the Court of Appeal of Pau in the Palais de la Justice, France (see Arab Chairs & OECD Co-chairs).

The GfD Working Group V is under the thematic leadership of the OECD's project partner UNDP-POGAR
