Training Seminar on Foreign Direct Investment Statistics

Al Manamah, 12 December 2007

The purpose of this training seminar, co-organised by the MENA Investment Center in Bahrain and the MENA-OECD Investment Programme and Hosted by the MENA Investment Centre in Manama on the 12th December was to present to MENA experts the revised methodology for foreign direct investment statistics. It was organised as a part of the overall mandate of the Task Force on FDI Statistics for Policy Making. The Task Force reports to Working Groups 1 and 2 of the MENA-OECD Investment Programme and is part of the work programme of the MENA Investment Center in Bahrain.

The seminar focused on presenting current FDI concepts, procedures and analysis with a view to enabling MENA experts to improve their FDI statistical systems and to identify areas of future co-operation.
