Jeremy Clayton is a career civil servant and has been Group Director, Transdepartmental Science and Technology in the Office of Science and Technology since February 2003. Before that he was responsible for strategic export control. Earlier senior civil service posts included the auction of third generation mobile radiospectrum, finance and privatisation work. Jeremy was in the Department of Energy until 1991, working on issues including energy policy, the Sizewell B Public Inquiry and support for the coal industry.
