Inflation in the OECD area at 2.7% in April 2006

30/05/2006 - In the OECD area, consumer prices rose by 2.7% in the year to April 2006, compared with 2.6% in the year to March 2006. On a monthly basis, the price level rose by 0.7% between March and April 2006 compared with 0.4% between February and March 2006.

Consumer prices for energy rose by 13.1% year-on-year in April compared with 12.8% in March. Consumer prices for food increased by 1.0% year-on-year in April compared with 1.4% in March. Excluding food and energy , consumer price rose by 1.9% year-on-year in April compared with 1.8% year-on-year in March....etc.
