Agricultural Policies in OECD Countries to be released 26 June 2008 – news briefing 11.00 a.m.

20/06/2008 - How are rising food prices affecting government support to farmers?  How is agriculture policy changing?  These are among the issues addressed in Agricultural Polices in OECD Countries: Monitoring and Evaluation to be be released on 26 June 2008.

A news briefing on the report’s findings will take place at 11.00 a.m the same day at OECD’s headquarters, 2 rue André Pascal, Paris 75016. It will be presented by Carmel Cahill, head of OECD’s agriculture policies and trade division and Olga Melyukhina, agriculture policy analyst at OECD.

Financial crisis: Save our savings

Amid the worst current financial crisis since the 1930s, EU leaders have pledged to protect savers’ deposits. Already most OECD countries have explicit deposit insurance schemes for savings up to certain limits. In a number of countries these have now been raised temporarily.
