Inflation fell to 2.5% year-on-year in January 2005

08/03/2005 - OECD Consumer price rose by 2.5% in the twelve months to January 2005, down from 2.8 % year-on-year in December, due notably to a general slowdown of energy price rises (8% year-on-year in January compared with 10.9% in December 2004 and 12.6% in November). Excluding food and energy, the year-on-year increase in consumer prices for the OECD area was nearly unchanged at 2.0% in January 2005 compared with 2.1% during the previous month...
