Liechtenstein signals tax reform - BBC News
15/08/2008 - Liechtenstein, which has been at the centre of an international row over tax evasion, has announced that it will co-operate more fully on tax matters. It said it would offer "comprehensive co-operation" in future, but would maintain its "culture of privacy"... It has been on an international list of "unco-operative tax havens". The OECD had named Liechtenstein as one of only three states remaining on its blacklist.

Financial crisis: Save our savings
Amid the worst current financial crisis since the 1930s, EU leaders have pledged to protect savers’ deposits. Already most OECD countries have explicit deposit insurance schemes for savings up to certain limits. In a number of countries these have now been raised temporarily.
