Text of the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises

The OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises are the most comprehensive instrument in existence today for corporate responsibility multilaterally agreed by governments.

Adhering governments - representing all regions of the world and accounting for 85% of foreign direct investment – are committed to encouraging enterprises operating in their territory to observe a set of widely recognised principles and standards for responsible business conduct wherever they operate.

The most recent revision of the Guidelines was completed in June 2000.

This booklet, available in English and French, contains the official version of the text, implementation procedures and commentary.

The Guidelines have been translated into many other languages, including: Arabic, Chinese, Czech, German, Hungarian, Korean, Polish, Slovaque, Spanish, Swedish and Turkish. Other translations by adhering countries can be accessed via individual country websites.
