OECD Employment Outlook 2004 - Chapter 1: Background material Annex 1.A2

SUPPLEMENTARY TABLES ON WORKING TIME

This annex contains four supplementary tables for the special section, “Clocking in (and out): several facets of working time,” in Chapter 1 of the OECD Employment Outlook 2004:

• Table 1.A2.1 provides country-level data for the shift-share contributions of different demographic groups to the total change in annual hours worked per capita between 1989 and 2002. These data supplement the summary results presented in Chart 1.5.
• Table 1.A2.2 supplements the aggregate shift-share analysis presented in Table 1.6. A gender-disaggregated version of those calculations is presented here which quantifies the contributions of full- and part-time workers to the overall changes in annual and weekly hours of employees.
• Table 1.A2.3 reports the usual weekly hours of work most frequently reported by female employees in their main job. This supplements the tabulations for male employees in Table 1.7.
• Table 1.A2.4 presents data on the incidence of non-standard working hours in 2002. This is a gender-disaggregated version of Table 1.8, which it supplements.
