The Fourth Joint Meeting of the EAP Task Force and the Project Preparation Committee (PPC), September 2006, Berlin

The fourth annual meeting of the EAP Task Force and PPC took place in Berlin on the 21st and 22nd September. It brought together senior officials from the Ministries of Environment from countries of Eastern Europe, Caucasus and Central Asia (EECCA), OECD, and representatives of international and non-governmental organisations. The meeting was hosted by the Ministry of Environment of Germany.

The objectives of the meeting were as follows:

1. To discuss preparations for the Belgrade “Environment for Europe” Ministerial conference, including the possible contributions of the EAP Task Force and PPC;
2. To review progress in facilitation and support of the achievement of the EECCA Environment Strategy objectives by the EAP Task Force and other Facilitating Organisations;
3. To discuss the environmental priorities of EECCA countries beyond the Belgrade ministerial conference; and
4. To review the activities of the PPC and EAP Task Force.

A special session to discuss mobilisation of environmental finance for environmental projects in EECCA countries was organised during the joint meeting.
