The OECD Standard Codes for testing of agricultural and forestry tractors define rules enabling 30 official centres in 28 countries to produce comparable results. Since 1959 more that 2,000 models of tractor have been tested for performance.
Tests are given official OECD approval after the Co-ordinating Centre (Cemagref, France) has verified that they have been carried out in accordance with the procedures laid down in the Codes. This guarantees that the rules have been strictly applied and ensures that the results obtained are fully comparable.
This bilingual document is published annually by Cemagref and OECD. The1999 edition includes abstracts of the104 tractor performance tests approved by OECD betweenOctober 1997and October 1998. Each 3-page test summary comprises tractor specifications, main results, and a graph showing the curves for power, engine torque, and hourly and specific fuel consumption for each engine speed.
