Centre for Educational Research and Innovation (CERI) - German Speaking Seminars

Co-operation among the three German-speaking countries, Germany, Austria and Switzerland, began in 1977 with the first regional seminar, held in Dillingen (Germany). Over time, that co-operation developed into an intense and trusting joint effort to deal with issues of innovation policy in education, an effort which weathered differing political developments in the three countries and showed itself to be an effective forum for exchanging experiences, for common reflection and as the impetus for independent developments in the three countries. The common effort is also evidence that educational issues can be discussed and developed across frontiers at an ever greater depth. It proves that education administrators, scholars, representatives of social groups, and practitioners can be assembled for a dialogue which promotes the identification of concrete tasks for improvements in education.
