EAP Task Force: Greening development in EECCA

Since the 1990s, the OECD has supported countries of Eastern Europe, Caucasus and Central Asia (EECCA) to reconcile their environment and economic goals thus addressing the heavy environmental legacy of the Soviet model of development. This support has been provided within the framework of the Task Force for the Implementation of the Environmental Action Programme (the EAP Task Force) using traditional OECD working methods.

The EAP Task Force’s substantive focus has evolved over its almost two decades of work. Members comprise the governments of Western, Central and Eastern Europe, North America, the Caucasus and Central Asia. International organisations and financial institutions, business and civil society representatives actively participate in the work of the Task Force. The outcomes of work are discussed during annual meetings and within expert networks that are part of the EAP Task Force’s governance structure.
