가서, 아름다웠다 말하리라
I will go, and I will tell them it was beautiful

We are delighted to inform you that the Korean National Statistical Office (KNSO) has announced that they will host the Third OECD World Forum on Statistics, Knowledge and Policy in Korea, in the city of Busan on the 27th to the 30th of October 2009. The conference theme will be "Charting Progress, Building Visions, Improving Life".

Welcoming the choice of venue, the Secretary-General of the OECD, Mr. Angel Gurría, said Korea played an active and crucial role in the international community. The OECD World Forum in Korea will be an event that is likely to attract a large and diverse mix of leaders from public, private and non-government sectors; he added.

The KNSO said its bid to host the Forum against competition from other countries was successful because of the leading role Korea has been playing in forming a bridge between developed and developing nations in the project to create global indicators and effective policies.
