The most recent Russian Corporate Governance Roundtable was held on 27-28 October 2008 in Moscow. The meeting focussed on the corporate governance of state owned enterprises. The Roundtable meeting provided the opportunity for an in-depth discussion among Russian and OECD experts on the corporate governance frameworks that exist to accommodate this ownership role.
Recent years have seen the rise in alternative sources of capital, including the re-emergence of states as influential owners of commercial assets. Against this background, the OECD is increasing its efforts to promote dialogue amongst experts in many regions of the world, in order to promote a better understanding of policy issues associated with state ownership.
