Annual inflation in OECD area falls to 2.3% in November 2008

09/01/2009 - Consumer prices in the OECD area rose by 2.3% in the year to November, compared with 3.7% in the year to October 2008. Month-on-month, prices fell 0.9% in November, after declining 0.3% in October.

Energy items account for most of the decrease in inflation. Consumer prices for energy fell by 2.4% in the year to November, compared with a rise of 12.4% in October.

Consumer prices for food were up by 6.2% in November compared with 6.5% in October. Excluding food and energy, consumer prices rose by 2.2% in the year to November, compared with 2.3% in October. etc.
