Statistical Databases: OECD Health Data Online Database

OECD Health Data Online Database

OECD Health Data is a unique, interactive database covering over 1 200 indicators for the OECD countries and including sophisticated query modules. It includes data on a wide range of key aspects of the health care systems in the 30 OECD member countries which are presented in a demographic, economic and social context.

The latest version, is a fast, user-friendly package that enables PC users to query OECD data files and analyse them using tables, charts and maps. It also offers the option of exporting data to other software packages. Users can select the variables, countries and years they want. The data, comprising some 1 200 different series, span the period 1960-2005, with selected long-time series from 1960 onwards. Most data cover the 1980s and 1990s, many of which continue up to 2004 or 2005, with selected OECD estimates for 2006.

OECD Health Data is an essential tool for policy advisors and health researchers in the public and private sectors to carry out comparative analyses and draw lessons from cross-country comparisons of national health systems.

  • Symbols included in data cells, to identify breaks in series or flag specific information
