Special Session of the Working Party on Regulatory Management and Reform, 4 November 2009, Paris France

The Special Session of the Working Party on Regulatory Management and Reform is an annual meeting held to offer a unique opportunity for policy dialogue between Arab and OECD countries.


Regulatory reform and administrative simplification issues are one of the core public policy topics for OECD and MENA countries. The objective of this event is to deepen common understanding of regulatory management and reform issues across OECD and Arab countries and provide a forum in which to exchange experiences, ideas and good practices.

 

The main items to be covered during this annual meeting will be:

  • The submission of the Regional Declaration on Regulatory Quality to the upcoming Ministerial Conference;
  • The findings of the law drafting capacities project (LDC) recently implemented and future co-operation;
  • The Regional Centre for Expertise on Regulatory Quality in Tunis;
  • Current development on administrative simplification and the use of reviews and Joint Learning Studies as an instrument to ensure successful implementation

 

The Special Session will be preceded by a training session on Tools to Measure Administrative Burdens on the 3rd of November 2009.
