Methodology

To achieve the objectives of the project, the OECD offers a variety of intervention and support:

  • Identification, involvement and support of project administrators and institutions (e.g. model schools) which serve as contact points in each country involved.

  • Publication of reviews of education policies serving as a reference point for on-going education reform but also as encouragement for further systematic action in this field.

  • Involvement and support of a broad range of stakeholders in the field of education. These would include administrators, experts, teachers, headmasters and statisticians.

  • Targeted training measures for specific groups providing international best practice experiences.

  • Support and monitoring of country-specific activities undertaken by both education ministries and related institutions in the countries themselves (see also the role of project administrators).

  • Lobbying on both a national and international level while co-operating closely with the Education Reform Initiative of South Eastern Europe within the framework of the Stability Pact for South Eastern Europe.
