Almost nine out of ten households in Iceland had access to the Internet in 2007, compared to about two out of ten in Mexico.

 

 

Telephone access in China has grown spectacularly over recent years: in 1991 only one in 100 inhabitants had access to a phone; by 2007, that had risen to 73 in 100.

 

Finland is the OECD country with the highest proportion of researchers in the labour force, with around 16 researchers for every 100 employees.
