Compendium submissions are opening

The OECD Centre for Effective Learning Environments (CELE) will accept submissions of schools and universities to publish in its 4th Compendium of Exemplary Educational Facilities.

The international compendium will cover all levels of education and address how the design, use and management of buildings and grounds contribute to the quality of education. The categories for competition are innovation in design, fitness for purpose, sustainability and safety. The institutions selected will be presented in a publication and a subsequent exhibition with full-colour photographs, plans and descriptions.

CELE Board of Participants’ members and associate members and OECD delegations will be asked to co-ordinate the identification of facilities from their respective countries and send up to five nominations to the CELE Secretariat by 11 January 2010. Entries received by this date from countries not participating in CELE or the OECD will also be considered for pre-selection by the Secretariat.

Opportunities for sponsoring the compendium project also exist.
