OECD Consumer Prices - Updated: February 2006

Inflation in the OECD area was at 2.7% in December 2005

01/02/2006 - In the OECD area, consumer prices rose by 2.7% in the year to December 2005, compared with 2.6% in the year to November. On a monthly basis, the price level was unchanged between November and December after a decrease of 0.4% between October and November.

Consumer prices for energy rose by 12.3% year-on-year in December compared with 12.5% in November. Consumer prices for food increased by 1.2% year-on-year in December 2005 after 0.7 % in November. Excluding food and energy , consumer price inflation remained unchanged at 1.9% year-on-year in December after 1.9% in November.....
