The Informal Network of DAC Development Communicators is made up of Directors of Communication/Public Affairs from the 22 DAC member countries. This informal network is the only international forum where DAC donors discuss communication about aid and development. Members have been meeting annually to discuss communication and public support for aid since 1988.
Directors of Communication from the European Commission, the UNDP and the World Bank also participate in this Network. Non-DAC OECD members often participate in thematic workshops and the Annual Meeting of the Network.
Coordination and work plan
In 2004, members of the Network decided to set up a project for the coordination of this network which is modelled on other DAC networks. The Development Centre, with strong involvement from the DAC Communication Manager, coordinates and hosts the secretariat of the Network. Fifteen DAC members are financing this coordination project in 2007 and 2008.

Two full-time staff work for the Network: a Network Coordinator (Steffen Beitz) and a Policy Analyst (Robert Zimmerman) . The secretariat falls under the supervision of the Heads of Unit for Policy Dialogue and Development Finance.
