Amman Executive Seminar on Insurance Regulation and Supervision

More than 100 Arab and international insurance experts and officials participated in the Amman Executive Seminar on Insurance Regulation and Supervision hosted by the Insurance Regulatory Commission (IRC).

The two-day seminar, the first such event to take place in the Middle East region, was held on April 25 in cooperation with the International Association of Insurance Supervision (IAIS) and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD.)

Financial crisis: Save our savings

Amid the worst current financial crisis since the 1930s, EU leaders have pledged to protect savers’ deposits. Already most OECD countries have explicit deposit insurance schemes for savings up to certain limits. In a number of countries these have now been raised temporarily.
