Benchmarking innovation for development in Latin America: Buenos Aires Experts Meeting

Leading experts from Latin American and OECD countries met in Buenos Aires on 30 September and 1 October to discuss ways of benchmarking innovation in the region, with a focus on how innovation policies can help boost development. This closed-door seminar, organised by the OECD Development Centre, INSEAD Business School and the Telefónica Foundation, in collaboration with the Inter-American Development Bank, took place at the Institute for the Integration of Latin America and the Caribbean.

 The basis of the discussion was the background research and draft papers produced by experts from the OECD Development Centre, INSEAD Business School, Telefónica Foundation and other institutions for the forthcoming INNOVAlatino Report, a new
publication assessing Latin America's capacity to innovate for economic development and the well being of its citizens. INNOVAlatino will be launched in May 2010, at the European Union - Latin America and Caribbean Summit taking place in Madrid.
