Sanna Järvelä

   

 

Sanna Järvelä is Professor of Education and the head of the Research Unit for Educational Technology in the Faculty of Education at the University of Oulu, Finland. Her research interests include technology-based learning environments, qualitative features of learning interaction, social and motivational processes in learning. She was a visiting scholar at Kings’ College London and the Open University, UK, in 2000-2001, and has been an invited expert in different national (e.g. Ministry of Education) and international commissions (e.g. OECD and scientific organizations).  She has published more than 25 scientific articles and several book chapters and edited the book, Motivation in Learning Context. In her research career she has actively contributed on motivation research in the context of technology-based learning environments and innovative pedagogical models.
