A specific statistical survey is carried out at Statistics Sweden to obtain early statistics on total Intra-trade. Using a sub sample from the ordinary Intra-trade statistics it is possible to publish data on imports and exports of goods and on net trade 25 days after the end of the reference period. The detailed Intra-trade statistics are published 70 days after the end of the reference period.

Whilst foreign trade is generally out of scope of the STES timeliness framework, this paper has been included to provide more general information on the use of sub-sampling techniques for preliminary estimates.
