The PARIS21 Consortium Meeting will offer an Exhibition space, giving a maximum number of participants an opportunity to share their experiences and present their institutions and activities.

The Exhibition space will be on-going throughout the three-day Consortium Meeting and serve as a focal area between sessions, providing a lively dynamic atmosphere and fostering a continuation of discussions from sessions. It is conceived as an interactive space combining different means of communication: posters, stands, billboards, LCD screens to display advocacy films or video-clips, etc.

Participants at the Consortium Meeting will have the opportunity to use this Exhibition space free of charge, within the limit of the places available. We encourage all interested partner countries or bilateral, regional and international bodies to contact the PARIS21 Secretariat (PARIS21consortium2009@oecd.org) and express their needs.

Posters

Participants have the opportunity to present a poster outlining their institution, their national statistical system (NSS), their good practices, etc. This poster could for instance:

  • Highlight advocacy elements along the lines of the “Why Country XX Needs Good Statistics” booklets that PARIS21 has helped countries produce.
  • Present programmes, surveys, activities, good practices from the country or Statistical Office.
  • Present the NSS and linkages with the PRSP process and poverty reduction policy monitoring.
  • Present thematic elements: statistical training, data archiving, NSS reform, etc.
  • Present a specific sector (health, education, agriculture).
  • Present the statistical development strategy - NSDS.
  • ...of course the poster could draw a little from all of these elements!

Please note that the PARIS21 Secretariat may help partner countries to edit, design and print their posters. To allow the Secretariat enough time to produce and print those posters, the deadline for receiving expressions of interest has been set for 31 August 2009.

Other interested presenters may display posters in the Exhibition space but they will have to produce the posters themselves and send a printed copy to the Congress Centre of Hotel Meridien President. As for the partner countries, the deadline for receiving expressions of interest has been set for 31 August 2009.

Technical specifications

  • The dimensions of the posters will be: 84,1 x 118,9 cm.
  • Use of visual aids (pictures, graphs, etc.) is encouraged.
    • Photo outputs: 300 dpi.
