Sophie O’Gorman is responsible for the administrative support for the Programme on Innovation, Higher Education and Research for Development (IHERD) and works with Åsa Olsson in the Directorate for Science, Technology and Innovation (STI). She has worked in several Directorates since starting at the OECD in 2002, for example working as team assistant for the Directorates of Public Governance and Territorial Development and Directorate for Employment, Labour and Social Affairs, before coming to STI at the beginning of 2012.
Sophie was born and educated in Australia and has a Bachelor of Arts in Politics and French from La Trobe University in Melbourne. Since 2005, she has undertaken courses in coaching and stress management techniques. She came to Europe in 1997 and, before joining the OECD, she worked as an account manager at a wine broker firm in the UK and as an assistant for a mergers and acquisitions team at Citigroup in Paris.
